Mr. Ramy Atef, Senior Associate, joined ZH&P in 2013 where he practices its Litigation Department with special focus on Corporate Law.  The typical skills acquired and applied by Mr. Atef include: following up on and attending civil, commercial, criminal, administrative lawsuits in front of courts of different degrees and types; preparing legal memoranda, Statements of Claim and Statements of Appeal; preparing and drafting contracts and legal opinions in the fields of commercial and civil law, labor law and the law of the Central Bank; and undertaking property registration procedures as well as executing of court judgments.

With a growing track record of seven years, selected examples of the matters he has taken part in include:

  1. Claims for and Obligation of Compensation lawsuits on behalf of clients such as the International Eastern Trade Company, Horus Foam Manufacturing Co.   2. Representing major banking institutions in Egypt in litigation cases
  3. Representing major clients in employment disputes.  Examples of these clients include: Hyatt Regency Sharm El Sheikh, Savoy Group Sharm El Sheikh, Ramses Hilton, Conrad Cairo, Le Méridien Heliopolis, Merck Limited, InterContinental Cairo Semiramis, INA d.d., The American University in Cairo, Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule Kairo, Al Nour Wal Amal Association.
  4. Representing major clients in Capital Market Disputes. Examples of these clients include EFG-Hermes, Bahrain Arab International Bank EC (ABC), and Beltone Financial Egypt.
  5. Complaints against legal expenses. Examples of these clients include The British International School, Cairo and Grand Nile Tower.
  6. Representing major clients in lawsuits related to rental disputes such as: Cairo Scan Radiology and Labs, ENGIE (Gaz De France Suez Exploration Egypt B.V.).
  7. Representing major clients in lawsuits related to Tax and Customs Disputes such as Nissan Motor Egypt, Electrolux Egypt, Conrad Cairo.

Mr. Atef was admitted before the Egyptian Courts of Appeal in 2016 and is proficient in Arabic and English.

He achieved the LL.B. from Cairo University’s Faculty of Law in 2009, a Diploma in Private Law in 2010 and a Diploma in Public Law in 2011 (the two diplomas are equivalent to the LL.M. in Public and Private Law).  In 2016, he achieved the Elementary Certificate in Translation from the Arabic and Translation Studies Division of the American University in Cairo (AUC).  Mr. Atef is currently enrolled in a diploma program offered by AUC towards legal translation and United Nations’ Translation.
