Mostafa El Bastawissy, Senior Associate, joined ZH in 2022 where he advises on and assists in matters falling under diverse practice areas such as merges and acquisitions, company formation, due diligence, drafting commercial contracts and general corporate and commercial procedures. He participated and represented many clients in negotiating major corporate transactions, joint ventures, and strategic projects.

- Advising Bavarian Auto Manufacturing Company SAE and Auto Mobility LLC in entering into an EGP 3 billion manufacturing agreement to assemble Geely vehicles in Egypt. (2023)

- Advising Bavarian Auto Manufacturing Company SAE in entering into a Euro 12 million/year assembly agreement of BMW X with Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft BMW. (2023)

- Advising Bavarian Auto Manufacturing to conclude an agreement to import BMW completely knocked down and/or semi-knocked down kits and/or assembly parts to Egypt in order to assemble BMW passenger cars of completely knocked down vehicles with Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft. (2023)
- Advising BEEAH Group, in entering into the shareholders agreement (i.e., JV agreement) towards providing waste collection services for the Administrative Capital for Urban Development SAE in the New Administrative Capital. (2023)
- Advising Antipollution Egypt SAE on Port Reception Facilities & Waste Management Contract with Suez Canal Authority – with an investment value of ca. USD 150 million. (2023)
- Advising RATP Development Mobility Cairo SAE, a subsidiary of the RATP Group which is a French state-owned public transport operator and maintainer, in amending the payment method for operating and maintaining Cairo Metro Line 3. (2023)
- Advising the Spanish company Patentes Talgo, S.L. in preparing and reviewing a contract with the Egyptian National Railways to provide seven sleeping trains each train composed of 18 coaches and their spare parts and special tools – as well as advising on another contract for the provision of maintenance services to the trains for 15 years. Prior to joining ZH, Mostafa had practiced for over two years as a Senior Associate at the arbitration department of a top tier law firm in Egypt. Prior to working in the private practice, Mostafa was a public prosecutor and served in several geographical areas in Egypt. Following that, he was appointed as a judge at the Appeal Court of Cairo in charge of civil and commercial matters. As a public prosecutor and judge, Mostafa investigated and handled high-profile financial crimes as well as adjudicating hundreds of civil and commercial trails.
He is member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 2010 and was admitted before the Egyptian Court of Cassation in 2024. He is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
Mostafa achieved the LLB from Jean Moulin Lyon 3, France, in 2009, another LLB from Ain Shams University in 2009, master’s degree in Economic Public Law of Strategic and Business Sectors in 2015, and a Diploma in the French Jurisdiction System from Descartes University Paris in 2016.
