We advise international sponsors in meeting the strategic and business objectives of their projects in Egypt through optimum legal structures, regulatory frameworks, project financing, project agreements (EPC and O&M contracts, etc.) – reconciling cross-border demands to local regulatory requirements.
We advise on the establishment, operation, management, and financing of mega and infrastructure projects established through Build-Operate (BO), Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT), and Public Private Partnership (PPP) – noting that our record of achievements includes advising the Ministry of Finance on the first PPP Project in Egypt upon which the basis for the PPP Law of 2010 was established.
Our track record includes many firsts in Egypt:
- 1st BOOT Project (Edison Mission Energy’s 685MW NG-fired power plant, 2002)
- 1st PPP Project (Ministry of Finance’s 350 public schools, 2008)
- 1st Project to close under the Government’s PPP Programme (Kharafi National W.L.L.’s construction/operation of a 250,000 m3/day wastewater treatment plant, 2009)
- 1st BOT Highway project (Bin Laden Group Consortium’s design, financing, construction, O&M of Cairo/Ain Sokhna/Kureimat Roads, 2005)
