Tamer Gamal, Partner, joined ZH in 2001 with a special focus on Arbitration and Litigation. He has extensive experience in handling different types of dispute resolution matters whereby he is well-versed in the preparation of applications of arbitration, writs of cases, appeals, pleadings, cases of annulment, execution of judgments and arbitral awards. His arbitral practice focuses on the sectors of telecommunications, building & construction, and banking. He has also accumulated legal and practical experience in the execution of foreign arbitral awards and court judgments in Egypt.
With over 27 years of experience, selected examples of the matters he has taken part in include:
- Representing El Nasr Electrical and Electronic Apparatus Company (NEEASAE) in challenging the Court judgment in favor of the National Investment Bank’s claim that NEEASAE failed to repay an EGP 96,121,577 loan. (In progress)
- Advising Jumia Egypt regarding the regulations of the Central Bank of Egypt Law and banking regulations related to cross border collection. (2023)
- Advising Global Auto on the main provisions of Personal Data Protection Law and the law enforcement process in light of the laws and regulations for automotive companies in Egypt. (2023)
- Advising Rabbit Mart regarding partnership with pharmacies as marketplace to connect Rabbit’s users with the pharmacies. (2023)
- For two consecutive years, participating in and providing amendments in the Economic Commission’s sessions at the Egyptian Parliament over Egyptian Competition Law no. 3 of Year 2005 and its effects on the TMT industry. (2021 and 2022)
- Advising Khazna on the appropriate legal structure related to the services of salary advance in Egypt and other micro finance/nano finance consumer finance licenses. (2021)
- Advising Orcas and drafting the terms and conditions for tutors and users. (2021)
- Representing mega construction companies in a multi-million US Dollars arbitration dispute. (2014 / 2017)
- Participating in and representing a mega telecommunications company in a multi-million US Dollars multilateral arbitration dispute as well as partaking in the consequential litigation procedures. (2014 / 2016)
- Representing several major investment banks in intricate court disputes before Egyptian courts.
Tamer is member of the Egyptian Bar Association and was admitted to the Egyptian Court of cassation in 2016. He is proficient in Arabic and English. The Legal 500 recommended him in the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology practice in 2021.
He achieved the LL.B. in 1997 and a Diploma in Private Law in 2001 from Ain Shams University, Egypt.
