Senior Associate

Ahmed El Shabrawy, Senior Associate, is a member of the Litigation team at Zaki Hashem, Attorneys at Law, since 2003 with a special focus on Civil Law, Criminal Law, Labor Law, and Corporate Law. He has been practicing law since 1992 as legal advisor to various firms working in the fields of import, export, contracting, textiles, networks and communications – among others.

With over 33 years of experience, selected examples of the matters he has taken part in include:

  • Representing the Arab Bank in the EGP 2.25 million debt claim against a debtor company. (In progress)
  • Representing Shelf Drilling Egypt Technical Ltd. in the Case filed by a former employee requesting compensation for alleged material and moral damages. (In progress)
  • Representing Conrad International Egypt LLC. in the Case filed by a former employee requesting compensation for alleged material and moral damage. (In progress)
  • Representing Conrad Cairo Hotel in two cases filed by employees requesting the refund of amounts deducted from the service charge. (2024 & 2025)
  • Representing Global SantaFe Corporation and Trans Ocean Company in their defense against a claim for USD 764,349 as compensation for unfair dismissal. The Case was won in 2014.
  • Representing an upper management representative of one of Egypt’s lead banks in a defense against misdemeanor and alleged dishonesty. The Case was won in 2006.
  • Representing Trans Ocean Company against claims for labor entitlements. The Case was won in 2008.
  • Representing one of the leading automotive companies in Egypt in its defense against a customer’s request for compensation for alleged harms inflicted on him as a result of a manufacturing defect in a car. The Case was won in 2015.

Additionally, Ahmed has obtained a judgment from the Court of Cassation in connection with the renewal of employment contracts for more than one term, regulating that such recurrent renewals do not convert the employment contract from definite into indefinite terms. This principal was quoted as evidence by some of the professors and scholars of the law, including Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hassan Elborai in his book “Al Waseet on Social Legislatives,” Volume II, 2009 Edition, Page. 828.

He is member of the Egyptian Bar Association and was admitted before the Court of Cassation in 2010.

Ahmed achieved the LL.B. from Cairo University’s Faculty of Law in 1990 and has successfully participate in a course on technical analysis of shares and bonds – offered by the “Egyptian Society of Technical Analysts” – as well as several courses on arbitration.
