Hossam Ibrahim, Partner, joined ZH in 1997 and became Partner in 2015 with a special focus on Litigation, Labor and Social Insurance Laws, Taxation Laws.

- Representing First Arabian Hotels & Resorts Company in the case filed against the Minister of Finance regarding disputed taxes. (In progress)
- Representing a world leader Oil & Gas Company (with operation in Egypt) in about twelve cases filed by former employees requesting compensation for alleged unfair dismissal. (In progress)
- Representing an Embassy in Cairo in about seven cases filed by former employees requesting compensation for alleged unfair dismissal. (In progress)
- Representing Oracle Corporation Oracorp in the case filed against the Minister of Finance in his capacity as the President of the Tax Authority to challenge the decree rendered by the Tax Appeal Committee amounting to EGP 7,627,154. (In progress)
- Forty lawsuits between Citibank and former employees regarding employees’ profit shares. All the judgments were issued in favor of our client Citibank.
- Sixty lawsuits between Meridien Heliopolis Hotel and its employees regarding employees’ profit share.
- Several lawsuits between Saipem Misr and Saipem S.p.A. regarding employees’ profit share.
- Settlement of several disputes regarding termination of employment issues on behalf of several clients such as Merck Sharp, AIG for Insurance, LEO Pharmaceutical Products Sarath Ltd, DSD Ferrometalco – among others.
- Settlement of several disputes regarding termination of employment issues on behalf of several embassies in Egypt, such as the British Embassy, the Embassy of Austria, the Delegation of the European Union in Egypt, the Commonwealth Commission.
- Issuance of more than one hundred legal opinions regarding employment and social insurance issues for several entities in Egypt, such as the Embassies of the UK, Austria, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, the Delegation of the European Union in Egypt and the Commonwealth Commission.
- Reviewing employment internal regulations for several companies such as Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui Company, Merck Ltd. – Egypt, LEO Pharmaceutical Products Sarath Ltd, AIG, Saipem Misr, Vodafone Egypt– among others.
- Participating in several legal due diligence investigations to cover tax and labor matters such as the acquisition of the Egyptian Company for Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries, EIMC United Pharmaceuticals, Alexandria for Confectionery and Chocolate (Corona) SAE, El Rashidi El Mizan, Jawhara Food Industries, AIG- among others.
- Representing Oracle Egypt Limited in the tax cases filed against the Ministry of Finance in the dispute amounting to more than EGP 200 million.
- Representing Vodafone Egypt in several tax cases against the Minister of Finance amounting to more than about one billion Egyptian pounds.
- Representing Citibank in several cases against the Minister of Finance amounting to EGP 50 million.
- Representing Barclays Bank in several cases against the Minister of Finance amounting to EGP 150 million.
- Representing ADIB Bank in several cases filed by the Minister of Finance amounting to EGP 500 million.
- Representing the American University in Cairo in a dispute with the Tax Authority regarding the salary tax amounting to about EGP 100 million.
Hossam is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association and was admitted to the Egyptian Court of Cassation in 2011. He is fluent in Arabic and English.
He achieved the LL.B. from Cairo University’s Faculty of Law in 1992 as well as two Diplomas in Private Law and International Commercial Law in 1995 and 1996, respectively.
