Senior Associate

Selim Hegazy, Senior Associate, joined ZH in 2017 with a focus on Capital Markets Law, general corporate and commercial procedures, mergers and acquisitions, and project finance. In addition to advising on the legal framework for startups in accordance with the Egyptian Law, he is gaining substantial expertise in advising on several general corporate and corporate governance matters for several multinational clients as well as in incorporating several multimillion corporations in the form of joint stock companies or limited liability companies.

With over eight years of experience, selected examples of the matters he has taken part in include:

  • Advising Areeba Egypt for Electronic Payment Services SAE in the EGP 46.5 million acquisition of the entire share capital of Tal2a Pay LLC. (2022)
  • Advising on the execution of a joint venture between Egyptian and German companies and liaising with the different compliance requirements. (2022)
  • Advising on the sale and transfer of licenses for medical centers in favor of a foreign fund. (2022)
  • Advising on the IPO of the Government-owned eFinance for Digital and Financial Investments SAE. (2021)
  • Conducting the due diligence and being part of the team handling the IPO Macro Group. (2021)
  • Team member in conducting the legal due diligence of: SODIC (2021), Emperor Divers Red sea (2021), Shorouk Stores and commercial stores (2020), Vitas (2020), Instashop (2020), United Pharma (2020), Techno Scan (2018), and Madinet Nasr for Housing and Development (MNHD) (2018).
  • Advising in the review of CORPLEASE’s EGP 2.4 billion (a four-tranche) Securitized Bond Issuance. (2021)
  • Advising in the execution of the sale of pharmaceuticals plant and handling regulatory matters regarding the execution of the transaction. (2021)
  • Conducting the due diligence and being part of the team executing the transaction documents of Bavarian Automotive. (2020)
  • Advising in the regulatory framework for the first online pharmacy (application). (2020)
  • Advising on the restructuring of I2 Group. (2020)
  • Advising on the bond issuance of Nemow Fund. (2020)
  • Advising in the review of the agency agreement between Kasrawy and Citroen (PSA). (2019)
  • Advising on the Securitization of Madinet Nasr for Housing and Development. (2019)
  • Advising on the Egyptian Kuwait Holding’s EGP 300 million acquisition of the majority shares in Delta Insurance through mandatory tender offer. (2018)
  • Advising the Egyptian Chemicals Industries SAE (Kima) in the EGP 7 billion syndicated loan agreement. (2018)
  • Advising the Egyptian Government (Systra Consortium) in the tender for the High Speed Rail connecting Burg El Arab to Ain El Sokhna Port. (2018)
  • Advising RATP in Cairo Metro Line 3. (2018)

He is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 2016 and was admitted before the Court of Appeal in 2023. He is proficient in Arabic and English.

Selim achieved the LL.B. from Cairo University (English Department), Egypt, in 2014.
