Zaki Hashem & Partners (ZH&P), Attorneys at Law, is pleased to announce that it has advised Damietta Port Authority and the Ministry of Transportation (the Maritime Transportation Sector) on the Second Container Terminal (Tahya Misr 1) of Damietta Port.

ZH&P was represented in the Project by Mr. Sameh Khodeir, Senior Partner, and Mr. Essam Taha, Of Counsel.

The Project includes the construction and development of the superstructure as well as the use, management, operation, exploitation, maintenance and transfer of the Container Terminal (Tahya Misr 1) to the State at the end of the concession term. The Project will create over 1,000 direct and indirect jobs and Europe's largest global shipping alliance is investing USD 0.5 billion in the first phase of the Project.

The Project falls within Egypt’s maritime transportation and logistics industry and cements ZH&P’s ports and transportation experience that also includes advising on Egypt’s first privately operated port (Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT)), advising on the first private jetty for LNG, as well as having advised various port projects and providing ongoing legal advice to port operators and the State.
