We are pleased to share that we have advised Antipollution Egypt SAE on a series of landmark agreements governing the provision of hazardous waste services across both the Southern and Northern areas of the Suez Canal.
These agreements were entered into with the Red Sea Ports Authority, the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Authority, and the Ministry of Transportation’s Egyptian Marine Supply and Contracting Company. They were subsequently followed by the issuance of the SCZONE's Periodical Circular no. 2 of 2026, designating Antipollution Egypt as the exclusive provider of hazardous waste collection services for all vessels transiting the Canal.
Building on the existing waste collection framework, this milestone significantly expands Antipollution Egypt’s operational scope to include the collection, transportation, processing, and safe disposal of hazardous ship-generated waste and cargo residues along the full length of the Suez Canal.
Our team of lawyers was led by Hossam Hafez, Partner, and included Youssef ElHadidy, Senior Associate, and Hadeel Hany, Associate.
