Dalia Hussein, Senior Associate, joined ZH's Arbitration Department in 2014 moving from Orascom Construction Industries. She has worked on many arbitration cases including ad hoc and institutional arbitrations such as CRCICA and ICC, among others. Her practice focuses on the corporate sector, the construction sector, and the telecommunications sectors– among others.
She is well-versed in extending legal opinion, drafting and reviewing various types of contracts, and in participating in arbitration agreements, disputes and settlements. She also advised several clients from both public and private entities on legal aspects related the Tender Law – all the way through concluding agreements. Additionally, she advised investors on all legal aspects applicable to construction activities as well as counselling on and negotiating FDIC-based construction agreements.
Her record of experience includes reviewing and advising on mega construction projects with investors and public entities, handling various arbitration cases in accordance with ICC and CRCICA rules, representing a number of Chinese companies in conducting and negotiating multi-million dollar agreements based on FIDIC, and representing a major Egyptian telecommunications company in arbitration disputes.
With over 14 years of experience, recent examples of the matters she has taken part in include:
- Member of the team advising an Egyptian industrial engineering and services company in the enforcement of the Arbitration award rendered against a Gulf-based industrial company regarding the breach of contractual obligations under a distribution agreement. (In progress)
- Member of the team advising an international chain of five stars hotels in the Arbitration against an Egyptian hotel development company regarding the termination of a management agreement. (2022)
- Member of the team advising a group of individuals in an arbitration against a leading company in the industry of air transport. (2022)
- Member of the team advising in a dispute over a centralized services agreement and a hotel management agreement before the International Chamber of Commerce. (2019)
- Member of the team advising a higher education establishment in a multi-million EGP Dispute with a service provider requesting the termination of a contract. (2019)
The Legal 500 ranked her as “Rising Star” in the Arbitration practice in 2023 and 2024.
Dalia is member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 2012 and was admitted before the Court of Appeal in 2020. She is proficient in Arabic and English.
She received the LL.B. in 2010 and the LL.M in Commercial International Law in 2013 – both from the Faculty of Law of Ain Shams University, Egypt.
